Investing in Our Community

Waihi's Cornish Pumphouse
Once a derelict mining relic, now the centre of a reinvigorated town, the Cornish Pumphouse is a reminder of our mining past and a rallying point for new development. In 2006 the building was moved 300 metres at a final cost of almost $5 million. Today it is a 'must see' for the thousands of tourists who visit Waihi each year and it has become the town's icon.
